At Hip Xiong we believe in creating something with tangible value, images formed by real silver on a blackened metal plate that will last centuries.
We cater to individuals, couples and even groups ranging from 3 - 6 pax. We believe that each portrait is special and over the years we have transitioned from a fixed studio space to a studio on wheels. We now do house-calls and events so feel free to contact us for a session.

Tintype Workshop
Through our constant effort to perfect the wet plate collodion process, we are able to make the knowledge more accessible to anyone who is fascinated by its unique aesthetic and want to use it as a new form of artistic expression.
Get hands on in creating your own tintype portraits. Each participant will get to learn the science and technique of wet plate photography and get to do a total of 4 plates on their own (2 plates per participant). Workshop session also includes a couple portrait taken by our workshop instructor. At the end of the session you will get to keep all 5 plates together with a digital scan of all the plates that were done.
